Message from the President

Welcome to a new year for the HIMSS Kentucky Bluegrass Chapter!

During Chapter Leadership Exchange this year, Steve Lieber shared a great thought with the Chapter Leaders, that Healthcare Information Technology is no longer a back office function; Information Technology is now firmly established as a strategic asset for our industry. What a change in direction in the last five years!

This excitement about the industry is echoed by our newly restructured Board of Directors and Committee Chairs. Among the changes is a new committee, Professional Advancement, which will focus on opportunities for Chapter members to grow professionally. Professional Advancement is just one of five (5) committees this year joining the existing Events, Sponsorship/Vendor Relations, Communication, and Informatics Committees.

The energized Board is hard at work putting together a packed year of educational events, continuing education credits, professional advancement and networking opportunities for the membership. As the Board and Committees develop the calendar for this year, we want to hear from YOU! A survey is coming soon and we encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas.  There will be a great give away for completion of the survey too so look for that email to find out what the giveaway will be!

In addition to enhancing opportunities for development this year, the Board is also enhancing communications. Join us on your social media platform(s) of choice:
