2018-2019 Call for Board Nominations

Dear Bluegrass Kentucky HIMSS Member,

Pursuant to our Chapter By-Laws, we have annual nominations and elections for open board member positions. I want to personally thank our current Chapter President, Scott Smiser, for his leadership this past year. Scott has worked tirelessly to help ensure our success. As the incoming Chapter President effective July 1st, I plan to continue the momentum our chapter has experienced this past year. I have had the pleasure of serving on the Chapter Board for several years and am looking forward this challenging new role.

While we have a very balanced and active board, each year we have several positions that need volunteers within our membership to help further the mission of HIMSS in Kentucky. The following positions are open for nomination and elections should multiple nominees be placed for the same position:

  • President-Elect (will serve as President, July 2019 – June 2020)
  • Secretary-Elect (will serve as Secretary, July 2019 – June 2020)
  • Events, Chair-Elect
  • Clinical Informatics, Chair-Elect
  • Vendor Relations & Sponsorship, Chair-Elect
  • Communications, Chair-Elect

If you would like to be considered for one of the elected board positions, please email Scott Klink, President-Elect, at or contact an existing Board Member.

HIMSS By-Laws require that to be eligible to hold a board position, an individual must be a member in good standing of both HIMSS and the state chapter for a period of at least one (1) year.

All nominations for 2018-2019 board positions will be open until close of business next Friday - June 8th. If you are interested in participating, please drop me an email with any questions or clarification.

I want to thank all former and current board members for all their hard work over the years. Hopefully you will be a future board member and continue our HIMSS mission to the nearly 1,000 members across the Commonwealth of Kentucky!

Dr. David Danhauer is a HIMSS Fellow

The Bluegrass HIMSS Chapter would like to recognize and congratulate, Dr. David Danhauer, on his new membership status as a Fellow with HIMSS!

Please take a moment to read what Dr. Danhauer has to say about this achievement:

"My HIMSS participation has allowed me so many opportunities.  As a “green” CMIO, I was able to network nationally and regionally with the best and brightest in the industry.

I have learned from the greatest and can now count them as colleagues.

I have been able to share my experiences with others through presentations and meetings.

This association has helped further my passion for quality patient care as well as improve the care my team at Owensboro Health delivers."

We are proud and thankful fo have Dr. Danhauer as a Bluegrass HIMMS member!
